Klere’s Nature Impact Metric combines established, peer-reviewed and industry-recognised approaches to measure the nature cost of 'doing business'. Using EXIOBASE, ENCORE, PDF (potentially disappeared fraction) modelling and our own proprietary method based on the UK's DEFRA Biodiversity Units, it assesses biodiversity impact, risks and dependencies across Scope 1, 2 and 3.

Starting with expense data, we provide an affordable footprint of where nature pressures sit across your operations and supply chain, then help you drill deeper into the biggest priorities. Our main output, Biodiversity Unit equivalent (BUe), gives you a tangible and comparable measure of impact, with PDF available for a broader view of ecosystem pressure, analysing the highest risk areas and dependencies across ecosystems.
